The Isuzu Motorsports International Off-Road Race Team is the motor racing operation of Bruce Garland Motorsports based in Sydney, Australia. Cars built and prepared by Bruce Garland Motorsport have competed and succeeded in both rally and off-road events around the world. As team driver, Bruce, (with his co-driver and director of Isuzu Motorsports Harry Suzuki), have an impressive list of off-road racing achievements over some 20 years, and their names are well known in global off-road racing circles. The team trophy room is filled with podium finishes and outright wins from around the world. As well as numerous rallies in Australia,
bruce has also raced in South East Asia, China, across Europe, North and South Africa, the USA and of course, the Dakar Rally in South America in 2009, 2010 and 2011. A highlight was racing with the Holden Rally Team and winning the 1998 Round Australia Rally, beating Australian touring car legend Peter Brock, in identical Holden Jackaroos (Isuzu Trooper).By far the ultimate highlight though (for Bruce and the whole team) was achieving 1st diesel pick-up to finish and 11th outright in the 2009 Dakar Rally. The only cars that beat them were scratch-built, space-framed factory teams with bottomless parts bins and budgets approaching $US80-100 million.
